looks like i don't need to do a few things that i thought i might...so, here is a little picture of how far I've come so far.
i may have to make a slight cut into one of the crank cases, to allow the attachment of the ignition coil for the section of engine on the right in the picture.
next up, is to make some plates, to hold the two sets of cases together (pretty simple) and after that, re-assembly, and the engine should be ready for a test start
surprising how simple this all is huh?

done a little more work...or a lot, depends how ya see it
i have modified one of the crankcases, to allow the ignition coil in.
i have also made a bracket, to hold both sets of crankcases together, with the added ability of soon being a secure mount to the frame (welder required)
and, i have removed 3 of the cooling fins on one of the cylinders, to give one of the ignition coils clearance.
now i believe, all thats left, is to make a bracket to hold the top of the two sets of crank cases together, and ill be done...or so close that it wont matter
anyone know where to get a throttle cable for opening two carbys at once, or even, how to modify a standard one?
PS: all except the bottom bracket were done with hand tools (im kinda proud)
sorry for picture quality, was taken with a crappy phone

does anyone here have a lathe? and a spare cag flywheel they wouldnt mind donating to a worthy cause? (or i can send you an unused stock one as a trade)
i need pretty much just the magnets. no fins, no thingys for the starter, and the lip where the fins sit, needs to be gone (furthest point from the centre needs to be the magnets) plus, needs to be 11-12mm high?
Can anyone do this? would be greatly appreciated
this is the last piece needed to get this engine running (second half of engine is without ignition until then)
apart from that the engine is finally complete and INSANELY HARD TO PULL OVER

I may be able to help you with the flywheel side of things. I will have to have a look through my bits and see if i still have it but i have a flywheel that i'd lightened and the pull starter let go and tore all the fins off. I'll have a look on Monday and let you know. You can have it but you will have to pay for postage.
In regards to your engine i think you've done a great job so far and it will be interesting to see how it performs. Are the cranks exactly 180 deg apposed to each other? The only problem i can see is that the timing on the "slave" or "second" cylinder may be out of ignition timing compared to the main one if the cranks aren't exactly opposite each other. You may need to put a mark on the cranks of both cylinders at TDC and use a timing light to set the ignition timing so they are identical.
A solution to the carby throttles may be to fit a pair of walbro's (even reps) and make up some sort of linkage system to the throttle arms. Either that or make a system like dual front brakes where the throttle pulls both cables at the same time.

Cheers Gabe
the cranks are pretty dam close, probably sitting a few minutes away from 180 degrees. although it shouldn't matter too much when it comes to timing, as the whole point of the second flywheel is so i don't have to mount both coils off the one flywheel.
do you know how much postage would be to ACT, 2602?
and, do you have a lathe/does it fit my requirements? (otherwise it wont fit in the engine, as i already have one for the starter side, but the other engines flywheel, needs to sit inside the smallest space you've ever seen)
also, I'm not sure if I've ever seen one of these walbro carbys before, but I'm guessing it has a butterly valve, and is lever operated?
anyway...any help with the flywheel would be excellent, thanks
PS: thanks for the support
