Found this and thought it might be handy to someone looking for 'choppers' or parts.

Thats what i would have thought, or even 'what if you wanted to collect one for a display or something' ? pretty bloody stupid to disallow the importation because they dont meet australian ADR's, like how many cars get imported from the states that dont meet ADR's ? geesus, talk about double standards, pick on the bikes not the cars...

LC - a 2 wheeled motor vehicle with an engine cylinder capacity exceeding 50ml or a maximum motor cycle speed exceeding 50 km/h.
These "mini choppers" are full sized motorcycles and are not "pocket bikes". They are not eligible to be imported unless they meet the Australian Design Rules for Motor Vehicles.

but isnt the aprilia 125 and honda nsr about 20cm bigger than the mid bikes in height and length,
so if these had no mirrors would they be classified as pocket bikes?

I was thinking of getting a mate to pick one up, strip it down and ship it over as parts

might work and would save paying sales tax i guess ...
