hey i have this carby:

http://www.pocketbikesunlimited.com/...ECARBONLY.html

its the adjustable walbro one, when adjusting the carb, would the riders weight also make one of the factors for adjusting it?

and would anyone know what would be the best adjustment for a lucky 7 with a bazooka pipe, ADA 4 pedal reed kit, v-stack with K&N style air filter, no porting done, BM7A sparkplug, and i use 35:1 ratio, i am at sea level, temperature is usually in the 20's(celcius),i am 45-50 kilo's

any tips would be greatly appreciated, thnx

Legine, i would like you to try this method of tuning your walbro. screw both needles right in then set the low needle to 1 1/2 turns out, screw the idle adjust screw in all the way. ste the high needle to 1 turn out. start the engine [ you may have to adjust the low speed needle to get it started. put your bike on a stand so the rear wheel is off the ground, when your engine is running you must turn the low speed needle screw until your engine idles as low as possible, now you must adjust the high speed screw to obtain maximum revs then back off this screw 1/16 of a turn, so its abit richer. take your bike for a 5 minute run at rpms then check the colour of your sparkplug, you want a honey coloured plug NOT a light grey colour. for this guage it is wise to have either a new plug or a freshly cleaned plug for this testing. once you have set your carby and your happy with results you should only have to adjust the high needle screw by 1/4 turn in or out to suit climate, eg; hot day or cold days.

thnx a lot RD, that really helps,
1) is it the further the screws are in the richer it is?

2) with the idle adjust, which direction should i put the idle screw in all the way, clockwise or anti-clockwise and would it be at its lowest setting or highest setting?

3) and when i am adjusting the high end screw, how will i know when i have obtained maximum revs, would it be as high as it could rev before the wheel starts spinning, or what???

4) u say after im done i should take my bike out for 5 mins at rpm's, what do u mean by rpm's(i know what it means but...)how fast, slow or fast???

5) for cold weather should i turn the screw in or out 1/4 turn?
and the same for hot, which way must i turn it

this is quite different to this method that a lot of people have used:
http://www.adaracing.com/pdf/pbhpck47-wt.pdf
are you sure this method will work?

thnx heaps, daniel
sry for being such a newbie with all these stupid quesitons

legine, 1] no the further out the richer the setting.
2] the idle adjust screw should be out all the way not in
3] your engine will be reving as high as possible.
4] give your bike a fast run for this time of 5 mins so you can check the plug after.
5] you may be safe leaving your carby setting as set but normally on a hot dry day the engine will ask for more air / fuel = richer setting and say on a cold and rainy day your engine will require less air / fuel mix = leaner.

when you become familular with the walbro carbs high and low needles this carby is very easy to set. the only re setting should be the H high needle, remember screw anti clockwise for rich and clockwise for lean.
