Bigger gear on the back gives you less top speed but more acceleration. Bigger gear on the front gives u more top speed but less acceleration.
The big kid is right....
and if you make the front cog even smaller again you will go faster
a 5 toothed front cog will make more top end than a 7 toothed front cog
Ah dood, you need to learn your basic mechanics before you go shouting your mouth on a public forum. Lets just say you have a 70 tooth rear gear. A 7/70 gearing is 10:1 which means the front turns 10 times to make the rear turn once. Lets just say the bike does 10000rpm. So at 10000rpm the rear wheel turns at 1000 rpm.
Now if you use a smaller front pinion gear, say 5 tooth, the gearing is 14:1, which means the engine has to turn an extra 4 turns to get the same rear wheel speed. So at 10000 rpm the rear wheel is doing 714 rpm, Hense a slower top speed.
mate im not desperate for this bike, so if you prove it, then i will buy it, but im not going to go out of my way to see if your telling the truth, because the facts show that your full of it
