well, which do u think would be a better rear sprocket..
i think the 6/68 is a popular one, which will keep an ok speed.
also, imrunning a 54 and the chain fits on pretty tightly,, do u think im gonna have to add links for a 68 to make it fit?

you will have to add links
im running a 6/62 thick pitch setup & the 62 tooth thick pitch rear is almost the size of the rim so keep that in mind

62 thick is similer in size to a 74 tooth thin sprocket

i used a aussie thick pitch flame cut sprocket from billet racecraft
they use them on the R1 bikes with reduction gearbox (ctv) but had to have the center shimmed & bolt holes re drilled to suit a cag rim

here is the 62 tooth thick slightly larger than the 72 thin but has good pickup & a decent top speed

& this is a 74 thin

for best value you could get a set of 6 rear sprockets from ozminimoto for $35 plus $7 for a 6 or 7 tooth front pinionOzminimoto - Mini Pocket Bikes - Product Detail & some new chain + joiner links so you have plenty of options to go with

do you guys think i should just change to a thinner chain??
i like the idea of the thick chain as it wont snap on me lol..

so basically mac, the 70 tooth thick pitched sprocket would be the size of the whole rim lmao..

mac 90, with what ur saying that the 62 tooth sprocket on a thick is similar to a 74, does that mean that they have the same acceleration rate??

how does that work :S :S ive never understood that

Mate just change to a thinner chain setup, the sprockets are more readily available and you wont have to fark around with drilling holes and what not. And when you buy a good quality chain like Zocchi / Bzm(which aint that dear) you shouldnt have any dramas, not for a while anyways, ive been running these chains on my banshee with a motor that has upto possibly 15hp and havent broken 1 yet

im unsure how they work out the gear ratios with thick pitch chain as i have not seen any graphs

you could make a chart with excel worksheet if you worked out all the measurements i guess ?

but like pocket wog said your probably better off going to the thin pitch setup then you will have more choice of gear ratios
