Another timing key question

Hi, sorry to ask another... timing key question but I have been through the already posted topics and have not found the information I need. I have pulled my bike apart and got to the old key which i have taken out, i put the new key in with the offset facing towards the rear of the bike (towards the exhaust) also when i try to slide the flywheel back on it won't go in far enough and when i tighten the bolt right up it still wobbles abit. Could someone help me with this, pictures would be gr8!! I also am not completely sure that i have the key int he right way, if you could look at the pic and tell me if it is correct it would be much appreciated.
For pic go to ftp://220.237.179.228 Username: Guest, no password
sorry about the ftp but I have no where else to host pics.

for cags this is the standard installation procedure, check that you have got it right.

1) Remove fan cover, leaving pull start attached
2) Remove flywheel nut
3) Thread the 6mm puller bolt into one of the threaded holes in the flywheel
4) Tighten bolt against case behind flywheel (look for high spot on case) until flywheel pops off
5) Remove stock woodruff key from crankshaft
6) Wipe end of crankshaft clean
7) Apply a small amount of grease to crankshaft end and keyway
8 Install the Timing Advance Key with the offset on the right side(towards rear)
9) Re-install flywheel, lining up the keyway in the flywheel with the Timing Advance Key
10) Press flywheel on as far as possible by hand, it may be tight going onto Timing Advance Key
11) Install flywheel nut and tighten
12) Re-install fan cover
13) Re-check flywheel nut after first 5 minutes of use
*NOTE: Timing Advance Key replaces the stock woodruff key

yes most likely, but try running the bike first and see how it goes, if it doesn't go then you definitely need to change it around

The crankshaft spins clockwise. and if your advancing your timing you want to turn the flywheel a tiny bit clockwise (using the timing key). So the key should have the offset clockwise from the original key way.

Ok, you dont understand?

The 'rocket key' is offset right? When you put it in make sure the offset is clockwise from the original key way. If your still having trouble, pm me

Hey, I fixed my bike, in the picture I had the timing key round the wrong way and when i went for a ride on my bike it had shocking power so i pulled it apart and put the offset towards the front of the bike (clockwise) and then went for a ride and bike seemed to heaps more responsive and have a fair bit more "pull" when accelerating. I would definately recommend the key for anyone with an ebay bike as their cheap (about $20) and also work great.

The confusion comes from the piston port engines.

In a CAG you need the off set to face the front of the bike.

The R1's and the like , with the piston port engine turn the other way so youy need the offset to face the back of the bike.

If you are unsure just make double sure you know which way the engine turns and put the off set the same way
