Clutch life

I have a Cag
I'm 95-100kg.

Originally it was Standard with 6-68 gearing. Clutch life was OK, Had been riding it for months with no problems.

Then it had Bazooka pipe, fiberglass ADA reeds, 7-62 gearing. I also installed heavey clutch springs. The clutch then lasted less than 400 meters. it just couldn't lockup.

Now it has Bazooka pipe, Fiberglass ADA reeds, Volicity stack (air cleaner adaptor), high flow air cleaner, 7-62 gearing and a new std clutch. The clutch lasted about one day. (about one tank). it was much better and the mods have realy made a difference to the bike.

When I put my mates 13year old girl on it you could realy hear it come onto the pipe and see the speed pick up real quick.

How do I get the clutch life to last? I don't know if the gearing is too high. I like the new top speed. I know that I am probably too heavey but thats not going to change as I'm 6 foot 3 and 32years old.

I'm not scared to spend the money to get it right I just don't want to waist it.

If any one has any ideas please post.

i would drop the gearing back to what it was. with your weight, the gearing you have now might be too much. the clutch is probably slipping too much trying to take off. with a 6 tooth front sprocket, your clutch will have a longer life.
i dont know how long the life will be though

My suggestion is to shave your legs, dye your hair and pretend you are thirteen as well. May that may help.

Seriously. Probably a better style/model clutch may help. Do a search on clutch pads/ clutch sets threads.

Unfortunately like myself we're at the top end of the recommended weight scale for a CAG, i can suggest a better clutch but the LOWER you go on the rear in teeth the more strain the engine and clutch has to propel you hence will take AGES to get on pipe, this however can be corrected upping the HP on the engine, this will decrease time it takes for Band to kick in, and again will depend on gearing and the weight factor.

Unfortunately there's no simple solution to your question, maybe u should consider upgrading to a WC bike for yourself!! :lol:

Looks like the main issue is that the clutch drum was all glazed up.
