Hey.
just found this on ebay

Hurricane Turbo for Pocket Bike/Pit Bike - eBay, Road Bikes, Pocket Bikes, Cars, Bikes Boats. (end time 28-Oct-07 21:15:07 AEDST)

has anybody used em?
Do they work any good?
And do they just go on the carby where the air filter usually goes?

electric superchargers, conservation of energy im afraid.. you cant make an extra 2HP of power from a 1/20th HP electric motor that thing would make NO difference.

most turbos spin up and over 100,000rpm and that would barely push 20k rpm

Wouldnt be such a bad idea on a 4stroke, adding 2 x 80mm cooling fans in front of the pod filter would force air into the carb, so adding an electric turbo of sorts would probably help feed and an extra 2hp is another 2hp you wouldnt have otherwise would it ?

Would definately give it a try although if i could find a proper small turbo i'd bolt that on instead.

Anyone make superchargers for 4strokes?

Actually searching around i found this:

http://members2.jcom.home.ne.jp/takao.uemura/turbo.htm

Now thats something i wouldnt mind on my X9! can anyone translate the text ?

Here;s the installation howto for a honda using a TD02:

www.MonkeyRun.co.uk

I've rung around the place and cant find someone that supplies the TD02 turbo in Aus though...

greeny is an unknown quantity at this point
turbos

Turbo chargers do not work on a two-stroke engine. The 2 reasons are simple.

1.At the same time the inlets open, the exhaust port is also open. The only thing stopping the inlet charge going straight out the exhaust is the returning sound wave from the exhaust chamber forcing the mixture to stay in the cylinder. If the inlet charge is pressurised by a turbo, it will be blasted out the exhaust port.

2. How do you close the reeds against a pressurisd inlet charge? It can be done in a 2-stroke (rotaries excepted).

bj true, he does state that it didnt seem to work anyway, maybe what went wrong?! hmmm still the principle on a 4stroke sounds solid enough to try...

Although reading through one of my 'live to ride' mags i found a mini chopper with a working supercharger, might pay to find the guys details and find out what they did to get the final working charger to work properly!
