Our latest project

Hi guys,

Guess some of you have been wondering where i've been or what i've been doing, well work is keeping me busy with the new business and it's really taking off.

The last time i posted was with the 2 X9's, this time it's out project chopper...

This is 1 of yes you guessed it, 2

This is only a 49cc 2 stroke, the next will be a 150cc oil cooled beast...

Here's the before photo:

We extended the rear by 3" and finished the frame off to represent a true rigid, the chinese don't do that, BUT in doing so, it's also made it slightly harder to refit the rear wheel, but there's a way around that

Here's the final assembly pics (5 days later)...

rear guard

fuel tank

front guard

frame and parts being assembled

The bike was originally a light version of candy apple red but i didnt like the way the chinese painted it, the entire bike was lightly blasted back to bare parts and painted in our custom mix violette purple pearl, the flames are yellow and tangelo pearl, all House of Kolor...

The handle bars are being ditched and we are in the process of fabricating a new set and getting these painted up for this sunday (we missed the goast coast bike week) but will make the hawkesbury spring festival...

Enjoy, will post some glamour shots in the next few days...

cheers

Thanks PW, currently sorting out the wiring tonight and forgot just how much of a nightmare it is (had to do the wiring on the 2stroke X9 ages ago), so yeh, still on it...

Ditched the apehangers today and fabricated a really nice set of westerns, got these sitting in primer at the moment and will attack them with color later tomorrow (hopefully trying to get to the show on sunday)...

chat soon

Thanks ...

this is how she sat this afternoon after i got her home from the fabricators

The new handlebars were fabricated from using the lower mountings from the original apehangers and the upper bars from a 125cc thumpstar...

these will be painted the same violette/purple pearl as the rest of the bike (only down side with the photos, the pearl flake doesnt really show up)...

The headlight currently on the bike is from another mini chopper (smaller than this mid), i ditched the atv chrome thing these come with, the new one has more of a chopper look to it with the chrome lip cover..

Thanks Mac, anyday you want the HQ recoated let me know

All electricals are now done (thank god), the plastic vtwin is a great place to hide the voltage regulator, starter relay, rectifier and other unwanted connectors and wires its all about detail, detail, detail.

Still have to airbrush the side cover for the plastic belt drive, will paint a belt onto it and the name of the bike, still have to airbrush the side air cleaner covers as there absolutely no time to get these re-chromed, still have to paint and fit the handlebars and run the accelerator cable and brake cables, still a lot to do, but will be attacking it over the next few days...

will post some more updated pics today sometime, for now im off to bed ...
