here it is on the stand. i had to set the clutch to 8300rpm from 10100rpm the previous owner had it at. setting the zocchi clutches is a nightmare! definitely going to a bzm 2 shoe when this one eats itself.

also added in a fuel tap and fixed up the remote choke so its nice and easy to work on. just gotta paint the top in a glossy black and add the overflow bottle and its ready for racing!

seems it only revs to 16900 as well because it has such a tiny jet (85, the last guy ran elf fuel) so ill chuck a 97 or 104 and it should hammer even harder again

enjoy. ill take a video with the action cam of me getting thrown off it soon lol.

hmm it bogs down from being too rich with a 97 and 104 in it which is very odd i know you had to run a smaller jet with the 2 stroke atomizer but 15 sizes smaller than standard is a bit excessive. who knows. will just run it at wcr and do a few plug cuts and check it.

perhaps i need to just get a 90 and 94 and see if it picks up. most wierd. ill chuck up some pics of its new paint job tonight. looks kinda crappy. but its better then the smashed up old ones

MY banshee with an extensively ported/polished 50cc 5port engine was running on a .86main in summer and am running on a .91main now and its not running lean,I run it on Elf Unleaded though
In fact yesteday it pulled a max of 19400rpm under load(took a photo of the tach as proof for misbelievers) ,The 3 powerbands these 5port Pollini engines have are crazy as
Anyways back to the story, maybe you should try a .95 or less glen?

lmao its all right, just because it feels like theres no plug in the head when you pull on the starter

Massive seizure after half a lap, piston ring basically disentegrated. turns out the choke is leaking an insane amount which is why i have to run the tiny jet. so a new GRC lever choke on the way to replace the crap as heck cable one and a 104 jet in the carby.

oh. and a new piston lmao

as for the carb i tried a 97 AND 104 to begin with, but irrespective of all needle positions (W7 needle) and 50 idle jet it wouldnt run without bogging. only an 85 jet could it work which leads me to believe the choke is leaking. thats all i can think of that would cause it to require such a tiny jet to run properly.

and ill happily free rev the motor, it only peaks out at under 17,000 and my BZM does that on the track. so its obviously not reaching any velocity limit

very furking wierd indeed.

righty o many more improvements. mainly to get weight out of the banshee cause its so damn heavy

Today i ripped off one of the twin disks from the front and chucked a grc pad onto the front end. also replaced the entire cable and lever as they where totally crapped out.

compared the blata radiator and the banshee one as well. the banshee radiator itself is lighter, but the bracket makes it almost 3 times as heavy. the blata is a bit too thick to fit in as well so ive removed almost a kilo of weight from the bracket alone and should let the radiator ventilate a little better.

The bottom half of the fairing is all cracked and knackered so ill be only running the top half - half fairing style. makes it easier to work on and get on/ off etc. plus a tad lighter.

carb is getting rebuild. i changed the top end as it was smashed up and leaking with no gasket or rubber cap on top. plus 104 jet in the carb for now.

also got some much better sealant to seal the crankcase halves up better as the RTV i was using perished with the fuel and began to leak after a day or so. et all with the base gasket. also changed to a paper one to get a more ideal squish.

aside from that its all pretty good. new piston and choke should be here in the next day or two and then i can look at getting her all set up with the new jetting. then it should be back to its rocket-ish self

ill throw some pics up on the stuffed piston tonight
