ah well tried the 50:1 out for the last two days, its great, much peakier and the idle issues seem to have gone away with the cleaning of the air filter and sealing the exhaust a second time. so there you go.

also thought the braking was very crappy after the first 5 laps or so so i invested in 3 sets of genuine GRC brake pads. that should have me flipping over fowards hehe.

and to help swap sprockets easier ive also gotten the proper BZM water pump pulley. the original i had had to be modified by drilling two holes in the sprocket to mount it too which made it a bit unbalanced. and obviously i have to drill holes in all my sprockets - so the proper one just lines up. good stuff!

also highly recommend you get the GRC rubber exhaust mount if you go the bzm exhaust. the vibrations are gone!

hmm success! the 50:1 is running great.

ill have to retune the progession circuit of the carb though as its doing its surging thing at 9-10,000rpm.

also just slapped on 3 sets of brand spanking new GRC brake pads. holy crapola i had to back it off a fair bit so i didnt flip it over

also amazing the difference the clutch makes between 9800rpm and 8500rpm. i had it at 9800 and it was alright at take off. at 8500 its launching skyward. the tach is a good investment

now for some more tracktime!

heaps of work done lately.

after a practice day at wcr i ruined a pullstart after my bzm flywheel bolts decided to crawl out and eat the thing. also broke a rep pullstart in about 2 pulls (garbage) and had to get a polini.

after taking the motor down to check why it wasnt running as good as it should it appears all the manifolds are leaking and the crnakcase is too + it blew out a seal that would explain alot! so i tore the motor down.

now its heavily ported for top end gains (the track is long and im pretty light so i need more revs) and running a .3mm squish dome with good gasket sealer all over. should be much better.

had a nice moment where my brake levers decided to FALL OFF when i was riding, which was lovely. now replaced with some promax levers provided by a guy i used to race with at bmx - blackmans bikes at parramatta.

tommalessi throttle is gone as using it killed my wrists, so ive gone to a nice domino now.

the main thing though is the fairing mounts. I FARKN HATE THEM SO MUCH?!!?!? in an epic fit of rage i tore the front mount off thus meaning i had to do it better haha.

16mm steel rod drilled and welded to the front mount on the frame. the existing rod that bolts the front fairing then goes up inside it and thats what holds it there. works much better and i can slip the fairings on like a banshee now.

glen for your crank seals use a hardening type aviation form a gasket
or locktite also make a brand

it will sort out that high crankcase compression popping a seal. witch is a good sign the bore & ring / reed is sealing nicely as they should
