Glen you would be really suprised! seen the build up of the X9 ? the necks were highly polished to a mirror shine with very little fuss, the alloys on this bike would come up the same, let me know...

nice one glen, i enjoy reading about the few little projects you have going. keep up the good work mate

i do a little bit here and there my self with in the restrictions we have here in the uk. main just engine rebuilds and a few tweeks that we are permitted to do. my last couple have been a bzm 50 a/c top end and a zpf bottom end which turn out quite well and my new baby bzm 50 6 port w/c with 620 cases 20 mm carb. just waiting for my bones to heal and she will be tested!

wooo finally took it for its first proper test.

first the problems -

* the rear tire valve is rooted and the cap is the only thing that keeps the pressure in.
* 8 / 68 is rediculous. on my secret testing area 1 which is about 300-400m long it just begins to come on pipe. but jesus what a massive speed rush i think 7/68 will do it and if not then 6/68. trying not to change rear sprockets because i have to modify them..

the good -

* starts everytime even with a rep carby and didnt skip a beat.
* the two shoe clutch is engaging at a good rpm and no slippage yet.
* still running on 25:1 and running it in but accelleration with that gearing is quite impressive.
*nothing broke or came off so im well pleased!

interesting things -

* these no name ZHONG KWA treaded tyres or whatever they are, are actually not too bad i was getting some pretty massive lean out of them before they started skipping. but the PMTs go on today!
* dreambike is officially the best handling bike! the seating position is so narrow, easy to hang off it and throw it around. i love it to death

had an interesting moment where the footpeg decided to break off near top speed and it tried to give me a lovely tank slapper. the way the footpegs are done atm is dodgy so ill put some pics up soon on my fix for that!

anyway get the PMTs on there, change the gearing then loctite it all up and i think we are ready for race day

Okay some pics.

stock footpeg holders and the meathook pegs. not sure if there un-modified but you can see the pins to stop them rotating and the bolt holes in the back.

this is how it was to begin with with heaps of washers shoved in there to space it out. and the pins didnt sit in the holes properly so the whole thing rotates and totally fell off when i went for a ride. ughh.

using my favourite toy i mill the footpeg holders down to allow the pegs to sit totally flush. didnt want them to shatter so have to mill nice and slow. do want that cnc conversion kit!

YouTube - Milling cast aluminium

success!

Well my 6 port BZM arrived last night and i spent most of the night setting that up

set the right port timing and squish at dead on .5mm (might be even more like .48 when i crank it down some) and after a bit of head scratching got the cylinder on.

i was seriously tossing up between this bzm cylinder kit or the polini 5 port but im glad i went the BZM. im sure that they can both make potentially the same power - the cooling of the BZM head is just sooo much better and the way the whole thing bolts together is alot more even and would torque down more evenly so im glad i made the right choice.

bit dissappointed the kit didnt include an appropriate top end bearing so ill have to get a bigger one to fit on as the stock 40cc had some green type discolouration and it had tons of slop side to side.

also thinking of getting a 24mm mikuni on ebay for cheap as well. turns out to be a little cheaper than the dellorto and it would provide an interesting challenge to get it working. will see...

but aside from that the rims are off getting some new T41s installed and should be back shortly so ill have this thing bzm powered and all at indy. WOOOHOO

ill turf up some pics tonight.

no lack of traction here pmt t43s are on. loving them already.

And more exciting is the new laser i installed. all 300mW of it. if anyone attempts to get in front of me in a race, i will blind them! and possibly set their bikes on fire! TAKE HEED

bwaahaha. so yes all ready for its first hammering at indy. still need to pick up some good fuel on my way out there and then all good. hopefully my GP3 stuff shows up tommorow so ill have my spine protector and shoes, because i already flipped backwards off this thing from a stop hah
