My black X9 - Revisted

Hi guys, as promised here's another update on the on-going black X9 ..

Everyone might remember the rebuild of this bike in this thread:

My rebuild (another X9)

Well this is how it turned out:

Spraying this thing in black basecoat meant i always had future plans for it, and since the butterfly farm is once a month now, it's giving me plenty of time to get stuck into it...

The seat section, front cowling, fairings, foot peg brackets, side pockets, front and rear guard are all getting airbrushed, im only about half way tonight due to the rain, and there is still another 4 layers out of the 12layers going onto it ...

Here's how she looks so far (sitting in the spare room drying - sitting on a spare X9 frame ...

Hopefully the rain will be gone by tomorrow and i will get stuck into the last remaining layers ...

Cheers

ps. ignore the speeeling mistakes, vapour intoxicated ... lol

Here's some closer shots ...

Looking down from the top

So whats next? the frame still needs some attention, im going to be cutting it back, laying down a light coat of color, then hitting it with red kandy, which should compliment the finished bike

nice flamejob
can i recomend candy pearl coke red for the frame it will match the airbrush job alot better than plain old candy, as it can be put over silver or black base coat & has almost a harliquin effect under lights
from black to a dark candy pearl red effect

if you use black base coat then paint some silver flames on the frame it will have a really nice finish once the candy pearl coke red is top coated, as the silver flame job will stand out brighter under the top coats of candy pearl coke red & clears

Will have alook for the coke red, at the moment the frame is still in black basecoat and was thinking of kicking it back with some graphite then hitting it with the kandy red...

But adding some subtle flames on the frame sounds good too

thanks

Finally had another good day and some more time to get stuck into this bike, cut the previous kandy layer back and put down some flames, then added some highlights and some UV effects using my purple pearl...

Test fitted everything to see how it looks, and heres the pics so far, all that is left to do is clear coat it and then hit the frame with some colour ...

More later ...

Here's an upper shot of the rear tail section...

I think once this one is finished, i might have to strip the white one and do another flame job on it, something even better

This is the 50cc 2 stroke, but that will change later when i upgrade it to 70cc 4stroke (using the spare 4 stroke frame i have)...

The first lot of photos have more kandy red and orange in them, but i cut this back with some purple pearl over the kandy's, should look even better once it's clear coated...

The white one you saw at the track is the next one on my list, going to strip it right back and do another job on it...
