Few pics of my latest project. the dreambike fell apart whilst i was riding it (somewhat literally) so ill get a good use out of my nice alloy reverse frame.
i think it should be a good bike to convert because it handles really well (very narrow frame and long too) its a bit lighter then the dreambike, much easier to work on + i can incorporate a dampner and much bigger brakes into this package.
fair bit of cutting and welding involved to get it to work so far ive had to
- cut and reweld the top fairing mounts cause they where placed wrong
- mill some metal out of the swingarm
- make new spacers for the motor
- make a top end mount and weld that on
- new rear brake bracket
- new wheel spacers all round
motor has to sit way over to one side but ive heard from others it works fine. The weight will be offset by having the wheel too the other end and a few heavy pieces on the opposite side.
nice chunky top end mount bracket - had to mill a channel there for the water pipe to go through and im still thinking of some nice looking upright plate designs before i weld them on... will use much thicker metal there (same as the rest of the frame)... probably make it a V shape come to think of it
just have to finish the top end mount then jig up the banshee wheels and new brakes + assemble the handle bar parts and throw the radiator on and it should be good.
water pump setup will have to run banshee style so will have to get use my spare banshee pinion and get a pulley (or ill just make one)
will chuck up a few more pics when its more together
