Hey Dazza how are you mate.
Dont take this the wrong way, I have a lot of respect for you and you have helped me out many times.
I know you love your pocket bikes and would do anything to help promote them.
But I have to say something that is bugging me.
To suggest that these titles will show who is the best rider or riders in Australia is a big over statement.
The way I see it, being the way the titles are being conducted, all this is going to prove is who is the most wealthiest or fortunate riders.
I raced Moto X very sucessfully for ten years myself and when ever there was a national title it was dedicated to 1 state per year over a 2 day period.
Each year the titles were held in a different state.
We used to get 500 or so riders attend every year.
I think that the pocket bike fraternity should look at how they approach an event like this in the future given that the sport is relatively small and most riders have either a small budget or work / school commitments.
Me personally, if I knew a national title was in place every year and it was over 1 round in 1 nominated state regardless of what state it was and rotated every year between the states, i would certainly be going every year.
It makes it much easier to plan for and arrange time off work / school etc.
Trying to attend 4 separate states in 1 year is just to much for me, and others Im sure, financially and with work commitments etc it is just impossable.
I am sure (and I stand to be corrected) that if the pocket bike association adopted this theory, there would be many more riders from each and every state attenting the titles, and then you could perhaps state that the best rider / riders in Australia will be reconised and rewarded.
Now before any one says I am just whinging because I dont have sponsorship or anything, let me tell you this is not the case.
I just feel that It would be a better way to go about running such an event with such high rewards and or bragging rights at the end.
At the end of the day we are all trying to promote the sport and make it financially viable for everyone.
There are a lot of guys from all states, including myself that could place well at such an event like this but unfortunately just cant do it over a 4 round series in 4 separate states.
I would love to get some feed back on this from other forum users just so I know Im not comming across as a whinging bastard.
I have been polite and I expect the same in return regardless of what your thoughts on my opinions may be.
Cheers
Frizzy
