Some people just want to go as fast as possible and remember these are world record breakers. It's cool to be able to say I am the worlds greatest at something out of many many billions of people.

You'll also find that all of the land speed record machines are talled extremely tall. Rapid acceleration is not a factor, keeping the engine in the powerband once you get up to speed is.

Often you'll find even the big V8 powered machines will need a push to 80km/h before they are able to pull away under their own power.

I know man, I was just pointing out it sounded funny to me. I do know how gearing and the like work.
True it is cool to have your name to something... I guess in my position now I would get alot more enjoyment out of racing around a circuit and chopping ppl. Top speed type runs (IMO) is more about the engineering aspect rather than the actual driving... and for me the mechanical side is less fun than the racing/driving.

Dont get me wrong, this is cool. Just airing my thoughts I guess hehe

that bike would be in the streamliner class, all classes have engine size, type of fuel, turbo, supercharged or naturally asperated, i think the world record for a 50cc bike is 147mph, but i do beleive there is no record for a pocket bike as you an i use, which would fit the factory production class, i am heading back to lake gardiner in march (it was washed out an canceled last year) with my 911 rep, i have got some new rear sprockets from the US an will hopefully hit the 95mph+ mark, distance will be my down fall as PB's have no gears. i can get a recorded time but no record because of wheel size,
