Port Elliot Track Patron Behaviour

The Pits is and has always been a Family Friendly track, whether it be for Karts or Pocket Bikes. We have always taken it as a duty of care to ensure Patron safety and enjoyment as our top priority. As such any threats of physical violence, confrontation or intimidation of any kind (whether verbal or printed) will not be tolerated.

As a result of the threats made or implied within this forum by the member "xplosiv racing" (for reasons of the Privacy Act we cannot divulge any personal information or contact details held by us unless compelled by legal proceedings) we feel we have no other responsible choice other than to ban him from our premises in consideration of the safety and wellbeing of other Patrons.

This in no way will hamper any rider he supports participating in any events or meetings at Port Elliot, only the individual member "xplosiv racing" himself.

This policy is not discriminatory and is enforcable at all times upon any Patrons with regards to the Port Elliot Track.

Any threats made via the forum should always be passed on to admin or mods as the forum also has rules against this behaviour

Any PM's posts against forum terms of use should be passed on to mods or admin ASAP

Depending on the admin's decision the offender can & will have their IP address banned & any comments made can be passed on to their Internet service provider to determine if it breaks the ISP's terms of agreement & Australian telecommunication laws if applicable

Thanks

Email, Forums, Txting are all really bad forms of communication, and although these forms are sometimes the only way to communicate with other people this does not give the right to threaten anyone, however these sorts of communication can be read 2 ways depending on the person reading them and the person these are sent to.

Hi mac

We weren't trying to tread on any toes with regards to moderation of behaviour in the forum itself, I'm sorry if it came across that way. We respect this forum and the terms of use therein and if any posts of a similar nature occur we will make sure to forward them on to Admin or Moderators immediately.

But that being said, when a threat made or implied is directly linked to our premises we can not let it remain unaddressed. Thousands of people visit our Track at Port Elliot each year and we take our Duty of Care seriously with each and every one of them.

Regards
The Pits

Thumbs up

The Pits

no your post is fine im sure everyone understands that as track owners you want your track to be a place for all (familys & the public) without the hassles of standover men & keyboard warriors making threats to others

i wasnt trying to step in or tell you how to do things only advise if anyone breaks the forum rules via the forum admin or moderators will work with you to stop behaviour like this in the forum & banning offenders from the forum & track if owners decide is one way to go

its people who behave like bogans & plain D heads that bring sports into bad light
if warning or banning them from events fails the only other action can be taken is legal or criminal action against the offenders & you would be well within your rights to do so for the wellbeing & best interests of patrons & the public who attend

so my post here was to let you know admin or moderators are here to help dont be shy PM'ing or emailing any one of us

Hi The Pits,
Maybe a bit of an over site on my behalf for not contacting you, to inform you that the member you refer to was dealt with as soon as it came to our attention.
Your post was very appropriate and it shows your commitment to running a first class establishment, with the focus on, care, safety and fun for your patrons.
This type of behavior by the member in question will not be tolerated on this forum, and I hope members now understand that what they write here could affect them outside of this forum. This forum is not a secluded little world where you can write what you like and think that it is divorced from the real world.
You are most welcome to contact me any time on any matter on here or elsewhere, as we do and I believe always will have a close and friendly relationship.
