Do you think there will be Prac at the pits tomorrow night, even though they loose their lease in the coming days?

Sammy I know there is'nt any racing right now but this doesn't mean that people aren't trying to get things back up and running.
I've spoken to various people through the week and I was wondering if they had heard anything yet.
Also the APBA was going to have a committee meeting this week to discuss the situation just wanted to see if any thing had happened?
I guess all that most people want is to be kept in the loop as I feel that at this stage if it's not kept as a open book it will be detrimental to pocket bikes .

Hi to all you PB nuts

The future of Adelaide racing is in good hands. we have not been able to give mutch info out due to the fact that we dont wat to burst any bubbles or spoil anyones hopes. we are all dedicated PB riders and are suffering as you all are. below are the items on the committee adjenda that is curently being done. the last meeting was track discussions only along with the sava tyre issue. So here goes.

1/ the committee has been invited to put a proposal forward to run on a norther track just north of Gawler. On wednesday we have been invited to their committee meeting to explain our running requirements, rules and safty aspects of using their track. Its curently raced on monthly and we are going to put forward a proposal to use it on a regular basis. Three very long straights means this is ideal for SIDECARS!! ( maybe too long for air cooled eletes ) sorry ronin just had to put it in.

2/ The committee has contacted a hills council and have been able to a foot in the door to discuss with the curent land lease holder of the Woodside track. Curently being used for cattle grazing so there may be a few land mines in the way. it is up to the leasor to decide if they want us to put forward the proposal or reject it. its in council so time is needed.

3/ car park racing. i have been able to speak to one of the councillors at Salisbury and have discussed the posibilities of racing on one of their enclosed carparks. This is a long shot but worth the try as we are able to get bunting, toilets etc from one of the hire places which after a phone call today can also be confirmed as a club or race meet sponsor if we go this way.

4/ROAD TRIPS!!!!! We discussed the viability of some road trips up to broken Hill and would possible see if its ok for interstate. Discussed hiring a coach & driver ( with a very big trailer) to get us all to some race meets and catch up with other PB nuts around our states.

5/ Insurance for racing is getting closer, I have seen the cost and requirements for club officials ( flaggies & non racing members) and the cost is fantastic. They are just sorting out the policy for the racing side and we should have an answer soon. as soon as the policy is done we will be the first in line.

6/Discussions were held to organise a small meeting so we can all get together and applaud the riders that raced in the poooraka winter series. we will release dates and info as soon as we can. Estimated to be 3 weeks away.

7 one new avenue came to me today after a call from a rider as I know of some land down south that i am good friends with the land owner and I will be seeing them during the week to see if the club can hire the land on a daily basis as long as we can maintain it.

8/ Pt gawler go kart track will NOT be closing and we have been given info to discuss this track as well.

9/ Sava tyres were given the yes vote to have them available for the stock classes. Based purely on a safety issue we will be able to run the "C" rental tyres only. The were found to give the riders that tested them more confidence out of the corners on 2 diferent tracks, no real advantage except they will last longer and are more confident to ride on.

10/ The APBa is contacting local councils for support to help us grow and the possibilities of them finding us somewhere to race.

anyway i hope from this that you can see whats being done. we apologise if info is slow getting out but good corect info is better than none.
The committee is very dedicated to going forward and we need the help of our members now and in the future to make it all work. We all work day jobs so its a slow process. hang in there good fun is comming. Dont forget that nothing is yet set in concrete and we will inform you all as soon as something is confirmed.
Regards
the APBA committee

Sammy i am only one of the committee members thats working hard. I have only posted here under my name so that people know it legitimate info.

Ok I forgot to mention that Pooraka has ended the winter series and we are trying to organise a fun type day so that certificates can be presented. At the moment track fees are too large for the APBA to run the event there without loosing money. To do it we would have to pre nominate and pay so that we knew exact numbers that would attend. As soon as we can get racing sorted we will make the calender available. We are trying to get as many options available to us as we can.

regards
Dave
