Expressions of interest in new web site

Hi I would just like to gage peoples interest in a idea I have.
The idea is to have a web site (that I will make and host) for the benefit of all S.A. riders and interested parties in the pocket bike community.
If the Idea sounds like something that would be good, what type of things, would you like to see. I have ideas IE:, polls on varied subjects (that are web site visitor requested), S.A. private sales page, Picture page, race dates for various events and tracks. I would like to see all S.A. relevant information in one place.
What I need from you is to answer the following.
1: Do people think it would be of interest/benefit.
2:What type of information/sections on the site would be of interest benefit to you.
3: Would I get support from people IE; race results and other such information, passed on regularly and reliably to post on the site.

Cheers just an idea and doesn't matter if you think it is of no benefit and say so.

I think it would be good, But could this even be Acheived from the APBA site When its going to be modded up..

Just thinking along the lines off it may get confusing like "QLD PB racing" did at one stage..

But yea your on the money Ian.. Good idea..

Good Idea Ian.
Your efforts would be apreciated and some of us know how mutch work is involved for you to maintain it.
It will probably be able to be moved over to the AUSTRALIAN MINIMOTO ASSOCIATION page when its up and running. Then all states can be located from one main source.

ust my 2c

regards
Dave

I agree totally, but ask if it would be linked to this forum at all?
To dreamah, I think that it should be kept separate to the Official APBA site. My reason for saying this is that they receive money from people who advertise on their site. Plus who said its going to get revamped? Lets make it For all people in the pocket bike community as Ronin put it ,not just racers.

Hi all, I would just like to add that as Threewheels has said and also from what Iam aware of, the AUSTRALIAN MINIMOTO ASSOCIATION site will have state sections Incorporated into their site. This I suspect will make all state sites/information uniform and locatable in one place. Also Iam aware of the APBA site, but it hasn't been updated regularly and for some time, Iam not sure if this situation will change.(It has been mentioned to me by a number of people, that they would like to see the race results and leader board updated regularly, as I would like it to be as well)
The reason I mention this is that although these sites will exist, I was just wondering if they will incorporate sufficient information and interest, or the is a desire to have more on one site, for people who really live for and enjoy Pocket bikes (as I have more ideas to place on the site than previously listed in my original/first post)Also I would like to see it as a site for the Adelaide community YOUR SITE, by which I mean, is tell what you want to see on the site, and if its possible it will be added.

Now I would just like to make you all aware, that this site with the traffic that could be expected will have a cost to host, as I will be placing it on a professional site hosting server, with a domain name, with the capabilities of handling the volume of traffic that could be anticipated by the feedback recieved here. I say this only, as besides my free time to keep it running, I would not like to go to the expense and effort, if it is not going to be worth while to anyone.
So if you decide to tell me to go ahead with this site PLEASE don't take the decision lightly, ask YOURSELF first weather you think you do need it.This is why I asked the original three questions:
1: Do people think it would be of interest/benefit.
2:What type of information/sections on the site would be of interest/benefit to you.
3: Would I get support from people IE; race results and other such information, passed on regularly and reliably to post on the site.

Also as I have said its just an idea, not a definite., but can look further into it if the appears to be sufficient interest.
Also would be more than happy if someone else wants to take the idea and run with it, and would if needed help with hosting/web building info.

P.S. rover the site could have a link to this forum, but would not be linked to from this forum.

Hi all, if you view the poll results it does seem like the is an interest in creating the new site. Thanks for taking the time to vote, I left the poll open for 30 days, so will continue monitoring the results. I have today started doing a rough layout of the site and would now if possible like to ask are the people from around S.A. that could when asked provide information, that would be used to be placed on the site IE: race clubs from around the state, tracks, and results and any other information of interest to people located all over the state. The idea is that this may attract people to your events,or create enough interest in your area to have like minded people form clubs/events.

I would like to point out that I do not need the information at present, but to have this site workable need to take each step as it comes,
1. First step was obtaining interest
2.Second step is now to find if the will be reliable trustworthy people that wish to participate in providing accurate information, consistently, from around the state.

The are still more steps to go, So please keep in mind for other reasons, although I am sure I have thought out ways to overcome them, this site still is not a definite go ahead. But I do need to follow some steps before going to far.

Thanks once again, for taking the time to vote and read, and remember I ask for support for this project as it is hopefully going to be for the benefit of all.

As I have recently and previously be encouraged to continue with this site, I have taken further steps :IE updating software, rough draft/laying out of the site, etc.
As the site does have a temporary name, would just like to get other peoples ideas/suggestions for the sites name.
The site will, as previously been discussed, be for all information relating to S.A pocket bike racing/news. Incorporating many things like: tips, tracks and addresses, race days/calender, special events, gearing charts, fuel ratio charts, race results, leader boards, latest news and dealers, etc.
So if you have a suggestion for a name feel free to post it here.
Thanks Ian
