Alcohol
No Racer or official may consume alcohol during the meeting.
Racers and official will be subject to random breath tests. Persons failing the initial test will be given a 2nd test 20min after the 1st test. The person being tested must wait with a witness and not consume any substance whatsoever.
If the person fails both tests:
1. The Racer(s) will be disqualified from racing. Therefore receiving no points for that event.
2. Officials will be removed from the position(s) immediately.
· 1st offence: Both racers and officials will be immediately suspended from all activity dealing with competition for an initial period of 2-months.
· 2nd offence: By either racer or official will result in a suspension for a period of no less than 6-months.
· 3rd and final offence: Will result in an immediate life ban from all events conducted by the association
Drugs
No Racer or Official may be on the racetrack premises while under the influence of any illegal or illicit substance.
Any racer or official found to be under the influence of an illegal or illicit substance during a race meeting will be immediately removed from the racetrack complex entirely.
· 1st offence: Will result in a 3-month suspension from involvement in racing.
· 2nd offence: Will result in a suspension of no less than 6-months
· 3rd and final offence: Will result in an immediate life ban from all events conducted by the Association
Offensive Behaviour, Fighting
This applies to competitors, their pit crews, families and spectators.
Riders/Racers are responsible for the conduct of the members of their crew, team or family.
No person may harass, push, deliberately create physical contact with another or verbally abuse another person whilst within the confines of the entire Racetrack property.
· 1st Offence: Immediate exclusion from the race meeting and an initial 2-month ban.
· 2nd Offence: Up to a 12-month ban from racing.
· 3rd and final offence: Will result in an immediate life ban from all events conducted by the Association.
Bad Sportsmanship
Pocket Bike racing is a sport that should be enjoyable to all competitors. To help achieve this, all competitors must display an awareness of all others on the track, and ride safely at all times.
Any rider found guilty of deliberate weaving, blocking, baulking or other deliberate interaction with another competitor causing an incident or adversely effecting a race result will be excluded from the days race results and may face a penalty up to a maximum 12 months exclusion from racing.
Disobeying Flags
Any rider found disobeying Flag Instructions
a) Passing under Yellow Flags:
· 1st offence: Stop Go Penalty
· 2nd offence: 1 lap deducted from the number of laps completed
· 3rd and final offence: Disqualification from the days racing and the removal of all points accrued.
b) Not stopping on Black Flags: Will be excluded from the remainder of the race meeting for that day and forfeit any points awarded.
Jumping Starts
Any rider found jumping a start (moving forward more than approximately half of a wheel diameter) prior to the Green Flag or Green Light shall be deemed to have jumped the start and will be penalised 1 lap or a stop/go penalty. This penalty will be at the starters discretion and will be indicated to the racer by the use of a Black Flag.
Overtaking
Any rider breaching the rules governing overtaking will be subject to the following penalties and will include previous breaches in previous races on that day.
· 1st offence: Stop/go penalty to be served in the pit area.
· 2nd offence: Stop/go penalty to be served in the pit area and a 1-lap penalty to be added to the riders race result.
· 3rd offence: Disqualification from the race being run. Exclusion from all race results from that day.
Repeat offenders will be subject to bans from competition if the behaviour and riding style of the rider has not been seen to improve.
If a rider at a subsequent race meeting is found to be again in breach of the Overtaking Rules. That rider’s penalty may be up-graded by the Clerk Of Course.
Course/Corner Cutting
If a rider deliberately cuts a corner or section of the course to shorten the race distance:
That rider will be subject to a Stop/go penalty to be served in the pit area.
If a rider deliberately cuts a corner or section of the course to overtake or attempt to overtake another competitor:
That rider will be subject to a Stop/go penalty to be served in the pit area and a 1-lap penalty to be added to the rider’s race result and rejoin the race in the race position that they were before the overtaking manoeuvre.
Incorrect Safety Equipment
Any rider who is found not to be wearing the required safety gear, or not wearing it correctly cannot resume the race until the fault is rectified.
Other Breaches Of Racing Rules
The Clerk of Course may impose penalties up to and including exclusion from the Event for any other breach of Racing Rules where no specific penalty is specified. But will need to be discuss with all parties concerned
Challenging
If a rider Challenges the classification of another riders engine(s) and/or bike.
The Challenger must lodge the challenge within 5 minutes of the conclusion of the race, in writing and stating the reason(s) for the challenge and have it accepted and signed by a sitting member of the Association Committee or Senior Race Official
The Challenger must also pay a deposit of $25 and the cost of gasket set + labour (estimated to be $50) per challenge to secure the challenge for each engine challenged.
If the Engine(s) and/or bike is/are found to be Legal: the Challenger looses the deposit to the meeting organizer to cover the costs of administration and the cost of the gasket set and labour will be given to the protested party(s).
If the engine(s) and/or bike are found to be illegal. The deposit for the cost of the gasket set and labour is refunded to the challenger. The offending rider will be excluded from all points allocated for that meeting. Repeat offenders may be excluded from further race meetings. The offending party(s) will not receive compensation for the re-assembly of the bike/engine(s).
If a challenged rider refuses/fails to have their engine(s) and/or bike inspected further, the challenge will be declared successful and the offending rider will receive the appropriate penalty(s).
Riders making repeated challenges may also be penalised for behaving in an “Unsportsmanlike Manner”.
Bikes
General
Walking pace in pit areas at all times.
NO BIKE IS PERMITTED TO DISPLAY:
· Any Cigarette/Tobacco sponsorship or Brand Names/stickers. (Local, Imported, International or Foreign Brands)
· INAPPROPRIATE signage of any type.
Any bike displaying such signage will be asked to remove or cover the signage to the satisfaction of the Clerk of Course.
No Bike is permitted to use Av-Gas,
Lead based fuels,
Nitro-Methane,
Methanol or Alcohol based fuels.
Nitrous Oxide fuel additives
Riders entering a race meeting for the 1st time will be awarded a “Grace Period” for that race meeting for the bikes entered or raced by that rider.
The rider(s) will be made aware of the reasons for the “Grace Period” being applied and then be requested to make the appropriate changes to the bikes before that bike may be entered into competition again.
Race Numbers:
Numbers 1, 2, and 3 WILL NOT BE ALLOWED as these are reserved for the South Australian Champions.
Numbers must be clearly displayed on the front and both rear sides of the bike.
Numbers are to be in contrasting colour to the background colour.
I.e. Red on Black or Black on Red will not be permitted.
All other numbers not associated with the vehicles race number must be completely covered or removed.
BIKE CLASSES
All Bikes entered for racing must comply with the following Requirements and Specifications Without exception..
1. All Engines must be 2-stroke
2. Must have operational cable or hudraulic operated front and rear cable or hydraulic disc brakes controlled by hand only.
3. Operational engine stop (Kill) switch must be fitted to the handlebars or head-stem assembly
4. No excessive play in steering head assembly.
5. Foot pegs must be fitted and may be fixed or spring-up type.
6. Foot Pegs must be plastic, rubber or plastic coated steel or aluminium only.
Bare steel pegs are not permitted. All outer edges must be rounded.
7. Handlebars must not have any sharp metal showing and preferably be fitted with rounded bar ends or be solidly plugged internally. |
