For RONIN and the older gents!

i found this on the NSW site. Is this what you were thinking of?
Regards
Dave

Format:
1. All riders are weighed at the riders brief. No weigh-in means no inclusion in the handicap results.
2. The lightest eligible rider in the race class is the benchmark.
3. 1/10 sec per kilo per lap is subtracted from each rider above that weight. Could be whatever we decide 1/100, 5/100 etc. 1/10 is used as an example.

e.g.
Lightest rider = 55kg: Race Result = 1st, Lap 1=32.476, Lap 2=33.333 (65.809s)
A heavier rider = 75kg: Race Result = 2nd, Lap 1=33.889, Lap 2=33.567 etc (67.456s)
The heavier rider is 10kg heavier so obtains a 2 second handicap (2/10 x 10)

On handicap
Heavier rider Race result = 1stLap 1=31.889, Lap 2=31.567 (63.456s)
Lightest rider Race Result = 2nd, Lap 1=32.476, Lap 2=33.333 (65.809s)
Handicap race result is determined by applying the handicap to every lap and the lowest aggregate time is the winner etc. The timing system is there and the calculations can be done quite easily with a spreadsheet if the system does not have a handicap feature.

Old Farts Raceing id be in that next time i venture down to crow eater land
i thought of a novelty race weigh bike & rider
just make the lightest blokes carry a backpack with springwater bladder or 2 full of water to make up the weight difference

Hi Threewheels
Thanks for your reply. First I would like to say I don't really have a problem racing against the lighter guys, just that for the State titles I thought it would be nice to have a more even playing field (weight wise) as this is going to be such a big and important event. I would just like to point out why I have the concern on the weight issue 1: lighter riders can out brake heavy riders. 2: they can accelerate quicker, out of turns. 3: can probably go through the twisty bits faster (easier to change direction)
As I said I don't mind riding against the lighter riders for other events, as my results have show Iam capable of doing so, also last Sunday proved me capable of beating a 30kg+ lighter rider, but was just thinking that for the state titles if the are enough numbers then maybe the weight class could be looked at. Bear in mind in such small bikes weight plays a big factor...as if you think a pocket bike weighs only 20kg or so. Would be interested to see the results if the light riders carried a another pocket bike on their back. I have only managed the results I have because of the bikes I have, but if a smaller rider were on the same, then I would not be competitive.
I don't want to sound like Iam complaining as this is not the case..in fact I enjoy riding against lighter riders, as this makes me have to ride hard. Just as I enjoy riding my Aircooled against watercooled..anything to put the pressure on (then only go quicker on my watercooled ).As I said previously, just something I was interested to get your thoughts on, for the State Titles.
As for the timing of laps and deducting time by weight, I think this would become messy, and do not think the is a timing system in place for our racing to do this accurately. The rule of 80kg and over is simple, and then maybe only the would be a 10kg difference which I think is more than acceptable. Having said all this though would be interested to here your views and others.
If the are not the numbers to separate by weight for the Titles or is decided not to do this anyway...Iam still more than happy to ride against all comers as I will still be enjoying myself , Win lose or DNF
Anyway thanks for reading...now go buy Ben some Hungry Jacks LOL

Thanks RONIN

that was just something I saw on the NSW forum. I do see the complications in the scoring and I like your Idea better of an + or - 80 kg rule. Things are well into the planning stage for a state type event
Fast food makes teenagers hyperactive!!!!! How about some sedatives or laxatives for him? He still has a year to go in Juniors yet
regards
Dave

Hi Threewheels the 80kg idea isn't mine I think its already in the rules...but not to worry there are probably not going to be enough riders to split the racing, and thats OK. I just noticed your no skirt jokes thing as well...Dam I had a ripper one, would a DICKtation joke be appropriate though LOL.

Anyway more importantly, your post about and I quote "Fast food makes teenagers hyperactive" has led me in new directions. I have a great business proposal and would like you to get on board. Here it is: hyperactive would mean you are using up energy, so heres the idea. EAT YOUR WAY TO THE PERFECT BODY. Now as this idea needs some scientific backing I'm willing to offer myself as a Guinea pig, and will only eat Fast food from now on. As all scientific studies need to be based on the real world, I need a Parent to buy the fast food for me, to make the experiment reflect the real world...this is where you come in. In return for 50% share in the company you need to buy me fast food (as the test parent) for say the next 6 to 12 months. I in keeping with the spirit and accuracy of the experiment will eat free of charge and maybe the occasional thank you (only when I think I can get something else LOL) Now also as I shall not be able to attend work for the duration of the test, you may have to pay my bills, clean up after me and drive me everywhere I want to go.
Anyway let me know what you think of this proposal..as I can see it would be a very good Idea roflmao.

P.S. I have to go now Threewheels, the are 2 men in big white coats at my door and they want me to go weave them a basket. You would think if they didnt waste their money driving around in an ambulance they could just buy a basket. LOL
