| COMMITTEE REPORT 4/7/07
Well it was a looooong night! Very eventful! But once again the committee was able to discuss plans for the future.
Some incidents regarding personal views and grievances came up and were debated very heatedly at times. Getting you own personal points and opinions is always hard. Last night was no exception. I was disappointed to see two members leave the meeting one who I do not think wants to come back and the other I am unsure. Personally I am sad to see anyone leave as they all had something to say, good, bad or what ever I was prepared to listen.
On a brighter note the committee has planned to take memberships from 1/7/07 for the 2007/2008 season and fees will be approximately $50 for adults and $25 for juniors.
What do we get is the main question.
Comprehensive insurance cover which enables us to race on other tracks and shortly interstate. There is still more investigating to be done on the policy but is being done while we sleep.
Scheduled race meets on other tracks, run by the APBA with uniform race fees. Along with a rule book that will have details of the class rules, general conduct, corporate sponsors
We are going to be running a $2.00 raffle so that we can raise the funds to pay the insurance cover so you are covered the minute you joint the association. The prize is to be determined today and will probable have two wheels!
Bi Monthly newsletter with previous race results, general club news, rider profiles, website info and corporate sponsor deals and discounts.
Official A.P.B.A cap or beanie ( for the balding members)!
Other topics of discussion
Race schedule. How long between races, how often to visit other tracks?
Is one race every two weeks too much? Once a month too little? How often at each track, do we rotate them. So many questions and many people to try and please. Your input would be appreciated.
Government, local funding for things like or own track or clubrooms, scoring systems. This one could be used in so many ways.
Club funding from corporate and private sponsors so we have a constant income to grow our association. The goal would be to have monies to pay next years insurance prior to the next membership dues. As well as equipment purchases to aid in our racing. Also this can be used against the next club fees and if affordable can then be passed back to the members in things like reduced club fees or clothing etc. so maybe if we get enuf we can subsidize ourselves.
Food at race meets. Is to be discussed with track owners and where possible will be club controlled so we can fund raise from it.
Eion and myself have studied our own and interstate rules and will now get together and put a proposal together to be evaluated.
The Pitts and Pt gawler tracks are happy to see us ride there (Pt Gawler opens in October) but the insurance is needed for us to hold race meetings/
I think I have covered all the important aspects in this post and apologise if any items have been forgotten, I will update this if I have forgotten.
