Banshee reed block mod

Ok so ive just whacked some BZM carbon fiber reeds in to the banshee that appear to fit fine. (I haven't run it yet) If I want to modify the reed block by cutting out the support beam to open it up a bit it will leave a tiny gap where the beam was because thats where the lip usually travels down the beam that the stock reeds seal too. Now its gone. This is hard to explain but im sure that banshee nutters out there know what im talking about if they have made this mod themselves. Crash?? Bj? Anyway has anyone overcome this problem. I tried putting a tiny bit of apoxy there and sanding it down but it didn't stick to the plastic block.
