they were looking into this for future use in trucks cars & other vehicles using speakers to play the same sound out of phase or opposite to the normal engine exhaust note to quieten louder vehicles

not much help for pocket bike riders tho

i found that with the 125 thumpsters slightly more packing & a piece of fly screen to hold it all together muffles them down by 1/2 without restricting

i have also seen the 4 stroke 50-90cc mufflers used on 2 stroke engines as well as one made from a oil filter
