Well here's another update...
After shearing the main shaft bolt on the 2 stroke, i managed to get another 2 stroke! this motor has a new chamber, piston, crank, pull start, starter motor (thanks to tracey and ty!).
I striped the clutch housing from the new 2 stroke and put on my clutch housing for the X9, re-wired the coil, changed the plug bolted it in, gave it a dose of fuel using the introvenis line from the trusty water bottle (it works) and gave it a few pulls from the pull start, she fired up!

After running the bike for 30 minutes i found the electric start wasnt working, this meant the battery was NOT charging, so i ripped out the old (original) battery and replaced this with a spare alarm cell i had sitting around, which happened to be new, and soldered this in.
Ran the bike again for 30 minutes and whoala!, she charges!
Here's a pic of the new cell and the dummy fuel tank while i wait for the proper tank to arrive in the mail 
Just needs a fine tune and a few pop rivets sorted out on the exhaust and she is ready for debut at the butterfly farm (in naked form until i get the fairings and nose cone finished).
I also managed to get my hands on a front brake caliper from an ATV which fits, the plus side? its hydraulic! and man does it bite!, now to find a rear brake caliper ...
