Hey all!
Long story short, I'm a 20 year old female, ride off road bikes and often passenger on road bikes. I'm currently riding a YZ85 and loving it. Ive been looking into pocket bikes for a while, and decided I want to buy one, hopefully join a club and race for fun.
I came across this add and I am keen. Could one of these bikes be suitable? POCKET BIKE WATER-COOLED VERY FAST | Motorcycles & Scooters | Gumtree East Cannington
I have little knowledge how much I would be looking at to purchase one. Not wanting to spend much. Any info would be greatly appreciated! |

That's called a Polini 911 Replica. For $500 new it's not bad. You'll have to work out a lot of kinks and bugs to get it running right.
I suggest you get in contact with the PBAWA. (Pocket Bike Association of Western Australia)
Alternatively, one of the more local members may get in contact with you and guide you through. I'm a member but I'm in Sydney.

Hi Sash,
I'm the club president for PBAWA, if you have any queries PM me your email address and I'll let you in on the club happenings. We already have a couple of female members and more are always welcome!!
YZ85 you say...... I'm always looking for some competition on my KTM SX85 mini-motard, I'm happy to help you convert it into a motard...........

Nothing wrong with the pocket bikes! It's a great club and we all have a blast.
Depending where you want to start there are a few options for bikes. Best to try and get something that's at least got a genuine (not a chinese copy) engine. Otherwise you may end up spending more time trying to get the thing running right than actually riding it!
But keep an eye on the PBAWA facebook page (clicky this!). There's usually a few bikes floating around at various times. There are a couple of pretty well sorted bikes which I think might be for sale at the moment too? Depends on what you're looking at investing I suppose. If you pillion a bit of road bikes you'll probably be ok for gear to start out with. I've got a ZX10R and a few others ride road bikes too.
Cheers!
Tim.

Tim. | Thanks Zxtimmy, liked the page too!
Yea I'd rather a not get a chinese one, but I'm not wanting to spend big $$$ on one. I'll search around and see what comes up!
Gear wise, I don't have leathers at the moment. But no problems, I'll buy some!
Thanks for your help!
