hello from a new member from canberra

just thought i would drop in and say high. I've had a couple of pocket bikes in pieces for a while and one good one that i put a new engine in and got running. recently our local motorbike club organised another track day and we're having a pocket bike race for half time entertainment (last year it was postie bike races ). one of the guys is bringing a yzr30gp, should be interesting to see how it goes.

anyway at the moment i have the black one working. i snapped the tail off and broke a footpeg last weekend taking it to a dirtbike place with the club (was fun and very bumpy). but it's still running strong at the moment even after taking a few falls.

the bike on the right without the forks is my current project. does anyone know a better place to get dirt cheap engines other than ebay? i'm also gonna need to source some foot pegs and a fuel filter (is this necessary?). my mechanical knowledge is pretty lacking.

2 days in and the paint is coming up nicely. (silver+silver is so dull)

and my big bike

none as of yet as I know jack all bout mechanical things. I'll have a dig around and see if I can learn some stuff from what people have done here though.

managed to get a new engine via ebay for $76 including postage (pocket bike parts website says they're not getting more in for 4 weeks.) so I'll check what the local store has in way of parts and then source the rest from pocket bike parts.

I think there's 2 near the airport for memory, one private one for go karters (which is the one your proably referring to) and one public one too. and then there's a third one somewhere else.

marulan is the track we're going out on. it's small for full sized bikes but proably a bit big for pocket ones. should be a blast anyway though.
