I just think its time to look further ahead and get a better future for our sport...I have quoted part of mortys last post ..he is right as here in SA there are alot of riders who won't be racing because of various issues ...all which could be sorted out if there was someone or group for them to voice these issues to.
Ringo ..APBA is MSA ...they aren't a governing body of minimoto...really in Australia there isn't a body..thats why I'm starting this thread.
You said that you are putting forward a submission for the 2012 titles which I hope you guys do host..who may I ask are you submitting this to ? The South West minimoto club?...this is my point...these types of things should be put to all clubs of Australia..not just one...as for the South west minimoto guys..it would be good for them to share the load.

I understand that MSA, MWA, MVIC, whatever they are MA is the controlling body in whichever states affiliate with them, so to speak. Do you guys have an MA (MSA) representative from your club? These are the people that get the rules changed and although our club until now hasn't really had one there would've been no point in us presenting rules to MWA when SWMMC were already doing it in VIC. Have some of you guys seen the MOMS book? what a load of rubbish, I spoke to Hippy about the book and he was keen for all the clubs to get together and discuss what was to be presented to MA. Logistically this is a nightmare to get guys from all over the country to get the book right.
Where we need to go from here, is look at the 2011 MOMS and if there is anything not quite right bring it to the table in March next year when we are all together and get it changed for 2012.
I understand your point though Rover regarding who do you send the submission to??? SWMMC have done the hard yards with MA and I would still see them as the best liason to put any states submission in through.

Ringo
Lets not just focus on this year...and I disagree with you on many levels of what you have posted..too many for me to reply to on here .
If the people in this sport don't listen to what the riders want ..well...the outlook wont be good..how can you call a comp a national comp when you don't have all the states truely onboard.
You can call it the SWMMC& PBAWA titles....Just because a state isn't MA, shouldn't mean exclusion..criteria should be that they are a registered pocket bike club.
I also say once again ..none of what I have posted here is directed at SWMMC and the titles at Phillip Island...please don't make it about that.

as far as i can gather all clubs / riders are welcome & have all been invited to attend through various media weather id be on hear or through other forums web site word of mouth but i would think pretty all minimoto riders would know about the 2011 titles.
Rover to be fair i think that the guys you are referring to that say there won't be attending for what ever reasons there is more to that then anything that is involved in the titles as i know from speaking to one of your clubs members you guys are having plenty of ride days but not to many race days over there because not everybody wants to race on the day again for what ever reason. I am not trying to put your club or members down in any way.
And again i have to say that by posting here you are not reaching many of the actual riders you need to put the past behind you & join the other forum & post there as at least you will reach the people that matter most the riders.

Ok , just to clarify a couple of very valid points you guys have posted ,
SWMMC has no intention of hosting the 2012 title , this was always going to be a rotating state scenario each year as all clubs said at various stages that they wanted . We as a club have taken on 2011 to get the ball rolling in as Ringo has said is a very short available time frame to sort everything with MA which is the governing body for all motorcycle racing in Australia. And believe me Hippy has put in a s**tload of work to make this happen not to mention Darren Schneider's seemingly tireless input and involvement including a group of us taking time off work to travel to the track to meet with officials and get a heads up on what we have to get done to hold this event .
Choosing which states proposal to go with was / is intended to be selected by representatives from all states . This was also always the intention as there have been discussions about this at many stages over the past few years with many members from the involved states . And as Ringo said the vast majority of people who were asked about riding at Philip Island have been extremely keen to come to this event .
An Australian Title at the Philip Island track puts us as a sport in an unique position of finally being able to present an excellent spectacle and example of OUR sport to the general public and we will be doing our best to get the major media involved to help do this .
To Morty , I know this means long interstate tripping again but if QLD gets the 2012 titles i am sure the VICS , SA guys and WA guys will be making the trip up there to again make the titles a success .
Lets all get behind the 2011 Australian Minimoto Titles and make it the biggest EVER

I think any club that wants to run 2012 should have a proposal (draft even) to put on the table at Phillip Island. I would be happy to travel to any state in OZ for the titles in 2012 even SA, shorter distance, that Monarto track looks awesome!!! But the only time we are all going to be together to discuss it is PI and if all clubs interested have something to put forward maybe all of us can come to an agreement for '12 while we are there!!
I'm still trying to work out what the gripe is in SA Rover, is it the $185 MA licence?
Because you can buy a day licence over here for $44 I think!!

& who will they be submitted too...
Cause its not supposed to be..
'Oh Mr Rossi, Would you mind riding here next year...'
there is a peat body that organise the events.. not the riders..
with the future of minimoto in Aust. their No. 1 goal....
name one event thats run by the participants...!
We need a peat body first & foremost I think, I just wish we had'v started it sooner...
Should we just get the ball rolling?

Agreed Morty, although I don't know that you are gonna like what I have to say. We have the opportunity to do this through MA (msa, mwa , mvic, mnsw, mq?? and any other EM????) They have contingencies for this, are you lot interested???

ROVER, if you manage to unblock me from PM'ing you, we may be able to talk about this like civilized human beings!!!!!!!

But these are all things that should be discussed by a committee of people for us, not by us...
