Standard classes are all about genuine newbies getting a box fresh bike and being told your ready to go racing, then turning up and getting thier doors blown off by expert riders on bikes that have been expertly tuned and refined for months. Now you've gone and ruined it. lol.
The best we can hope for now is maybe some newbys will turn up and have some close racing. Next thing you know they'll probebly want to join a club and get involed in the sport.

Granted Morty, I am only riding one class and I do see your point but I am coming from WA and the cost of shipping my cag over aswell is just not worth it. Maybe in years to come I will just pack my van up and drive instead of flying.
Dont take me seriously I was just pullin the p!$$ about the fitness mate!!

Imdying, don't take this the wrong way, but you aren't racing at the titles, and haven't raced at bool, or haven't ever raced at an aussie titles. You can't really comment on what happens, either can I, it is more than buying a new motor and dropping it into your bike, tuning, carby's, pipes, jets, there is a lot to go into it.. When you come and do 10 laps at bool, then you can say yes or no..
good luck boys.. have a good one.

what does std mean? The rules are there for everyone to follow...no....its not just buy a bike and ride....what chinese bike comes with pmts for starters?
and new riders up here get to race against the 1st, 2nd and 3rd oz snr std cag riders .....sure some might get blown away on their first outing....BUT.... the guys that get to race the best, week in, week out generally improve alot more than people who dont get to...........
it has always been that way up here and the best, most competitive races still happen in std classes where its more up to rider than bike. i have numourous photos of last lap finishes with atleast 4-5 riders within 10 metres of 1st place.......something i have never seen in the 'elite field'.
and as for more laps......i guess this really only concerns people who ride 3+ classes....like ALL us qlder's...
fitness is always an issue for myself when riding 2+ categories...i got the ankles of an 80 year old man!!

I'm up for this.......... For a guy who, after years of running the series, decided to have a year off. And now has picked up the ball and put hours of work into formulating new forms and trying to ressurect the series, it would be a deserved bonus for two guy's who have put soooo much into this great sport of ours.

You need to read my post very carefully before you reply, because if you can't show me where I've commented, then I'm going to be quite 'specific' in my next reply to you. It seems to me that I have merely asked for some clarification on some things so I can better understand what Morty etc is talking about. If you don't like that, then I would suggest that perhaps you're missing the point, again, of having a forum for discussing things. Quote:

Or just slide around a bit? How long is a typical lap? In our experience the cags will go round and round for an hour if your wrists can take it, but we don't ever get any 40 degree days here! Quote:

I assume the rules are pretty well developed at this stage, so reading those might provide some new insight as to what needs looking into.
Do you guys ever have endurance races, or more specifically, races that require a top up in the pits during the run of the event?
