After much Discussion with the Admin and the owner, Me and rover have decided to continue Modding on here.
For all those that have praised us we genuinely thank you, and you will understand from the following post why we resigned and have now agreed to continue.
First I will state that when I said I don't have the time to mod here anymore, well it was a lie. Its true that I will be helping get the A.P.B.A going and supporting the S.A. scene but in truth I have all the time in the world to mod here as I as many others want to show this sport to be accessible and fun for all, but I got sick of holding the hands of grown men that acted like kids. The are many reasons for our change of heart, mine personally are as follows.
1. I fully intend to protect the beginner and also those that have a lot to contribute to the sport but are to scared to post. Now for those of you that say thats rubbish...well I not only know a lot of people that are new to the sport but also existing users that are to scared to post because they are jumped on. New users have told me that the is no way they will let their child access or be involved on here because of the people that find it acceptable to put people down and abuse them. Existing users that are committee members of clubs have also informed me that they will not post, because after taking 30min to write a post they are jumped on and belittled. So make no mistake about it, this isn't going to be a one way street anymore, for those that thought I was an easy person to get things past because I always was polite and supportive they will be jumped on, because your contribution to this site not only excludes the people that like and want to enjoy it, but puts a negative spin on anyone wanting to take up this great sport of ours. Oh just one last thing, someone posted look at how the community has died off (less riders) by the number of people that visit this forum. Well this isn't exactly true. I know of more in this sport, they just don't want to participate on here for reasons above. Iam sure if every club took a serious look at its members and then realized how many they have that don't wish to come here because of the arguing they would maybe open their eyes to the fact that the is a select few that are spoiling it for all.
Well lets have a look shall we at some of the repetitive and stupid statements made.
1. People. constantly saying how you cant refer to other forums.Thats why this site is going down. Well first , do you really think that a new user comes on here and says oh wow look no links to other forums, I wont get any info here, so i will not participate
No they don't, they come on here and say look at all the arguing. You think they focus on the opinions or information....no they will focus on the arguing and they will say, stuff that sport its full of idiots. And by the way we are allowed to link to other forums and have been able to for some time, and I have just got of the phone explaining once again why this is good for not only users but the owner as well. And Admin once again backs this. So for all those that keep saying you cant, well I suppose it gives you something to winge about because you have nothing else to contribute.
2. For the users that have thought in the past that its OK to bag the mods. Case in point, One member that wanted to place in his signature attacking or having a go at a particular mod, then PMing the same mod saying he approves of the way he has conducted himself and would like to buy him a beer. Well its funny that you supported publicly a user then arnt man enough to publicly say your wrong. Well I guess thats a good way to sit both sides of the fence.
Now lets look at this guy he wanted to defend.
He wanted to set up a forum and normally I would say great the more people helping the sport the better. But what does he say. I want to set up a forum and take everyone away from this one.
Well the mod should of baned him then and there but he replied politely that he is all for it but don't go trying to bring this site down set it up else where.
The reply received was , looks like the mods arnt here to promote the sport. Well if this user thinks we are not going to respond well think again and get of your high horse. Now maybe when this user bagged the mods he forgot that he placed a thread in the Australian titles section...before links were even allowed. He wasn't only talking of a link he openly discussed a new web site , and we were happy for him to do it even to the point were I personally had to defend it. Well my support for you and anyone like you is over if you want to make ridicules statements like ...looks like the mods don't have the best interest of the sport in mind. You don't come anywhere near close to achieving or contributing to the sport like others.
3. For all those that state why cant we advertise our business on here, well you can. But its a business run forum and if you think its a great site with many users and worth while advertising, then pay to sponsor. If you don't think that sponsorship is of value to you on here..then stop your winging. Because now I have had it with you and I will delete any post you make with sly advertising and have informed rover to do the same. We will not help you when you constantly bag this site. For those that have said on other forums that this site is s.h.i.t...well its your lucky day because as you appear not to be able to change the channel me and rover will do it for you.
4. All those that say this site doesn't put anything back into the sport....well the money made goes to the IT guys and to rank us high in search engines etc. It also goes into providing a very popular site that most users enjoy, but have informed me that they don't enjoy it like they use to because of the certain people that instead of offering an opinion, belittle those that have a opinion contrary to theres. Also read above what coolmodee says.
For all those that want to attack, me or anyone else...I say again its not now going to be a one way street were we try to accommodate your insults. Make no mistake about it we will ban you so that the decent people that want to use this site and enjoy it can. .
So come on guys we all love this sport. I not only encourage different opinions I quite like them as not everyone knows all the facts, but when replying to someone put your opinion across and don't attack them. Also for those that genuinely say they want to promote the sport think about what image you give it to the new comers by arguing and insulting people.
